Before the pandemic, Wirral Naturist Club would meet each Saturday evening to enjoy a nude swim. Around 50 members would meet at Chester's Northgate Arena and bare all for a refreshing dip. However, since March , when the pandemic hit, the members have not been able to hold their weekly swim. A spokesperson for the club told CheshireLive that they had been unable to meet in any format.
Apart from allowing members to swim nude in a 'safe environment', the naked swims give people the 'opportunity to socialise. The club said they hope to survive these tough times, but that not everyone will renew there membership after such a long break. However, with the Government's roadmap hoping to have the country back to normal by June 21, the group are hopeful that their nude swims can restart. A spokesperson for the club said: "Being a swim club, reliant upon Northgate Arena hosting our sessions, we have been unable to meet in any format.
